At Milestones Early Learning Pointcook, we acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of this Land. We respect Elders past, present and emerging leaders. Reconciliation is our opportunity to work towards improving race relations between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and Non-Indigenous people, an opportunity to work together in unity, learn the true histories of our Land and be able to teach the children to appreciate the richness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures and contributions. What drives our commitment and motivation to reconciliation is our respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures as well as the true histories of Australia. We strive to be an early learning service that moves away from tokenistic approaches with the goal to build and maintain enriching respectful relationships with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. We will engage with inclusive practices and learning opportunities to enhance the knowledge of our children, educators and families.
