At Lucas Kindergarten, our vision for reconciliation is to actively foster unity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and all Australians, and to support a national culture grounded in equality, equity, and an honest acknowledgment of our shared history. We believe reconciliation must live in the hearts, minds, and actions of all Australians as we move forward together, creating a stronger nation built on respectful relationships between the wider Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. As an early learning community, we are committed to educating the children of the future by nurturing a strong sense of being, belonging, and becoming within our centre. Lucas Kindergarten is committed to respectfully embedding a range of learning experiences into our program that deepen childrens knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, and continuing contributions. We strive to foster meaningful connections with First Peoples within our service and the broader community. We acknowledge and value our ongoing relationship with the Wadawurrung people, on whose Land we educate and care for children. Through our Bush Kinder program and outdoor learning environments, we incorporate respect for nature as a way to honour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives and practices, supporting children and our community to understand and value First Nations peoples deep connections to Country.
