Port School recognizes the identities and the diversity of cultures and perspectives of the First Peoples of Australia.  

Our vision is to work collaboratively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and to use our role as a unique educational organization to strengthen connections between staff, students, and the wider community, helping to create a better future for all Australians. 

Our Reconciliation Action Plan will help us actively engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, staff, and community, guiding us through a process of Truth-Telling and listening. This process will strengthen our shared understanding of Australias true histories as we work together towards building genuine empathy and respect for past, present, and future Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. 

Our vision is guided by our values of Diversity, Growth, Empowerment, and Community, and we aim to incorporate each of these into our ongoing conversation with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander  community, making visible our respect for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander  people who have looked after this Land for so many years, and preparing the way for an ongoing collaborative relationship in the years to come.
