VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Busy Bees at Bentleigh East, reconciliation means fostering a community built on respect, understanding, and inclusivity. We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land and commit to building strong, meaningful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Through education, cultural awareness, and open dialogue, we strive to provide an environment where all voices are heard, true histories are acknowledged, and opportunities are shared. Our commitment to reconciliation is woven into our daily practices, ensuring that children, families, and educators work together toward a more united and respectful future.

Busy Bees at Bentleigh East is committed to the path of reconciliation. We understand that it is our responsibility to educate ourselves, the wider community, and current and future generations about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people’s perspectives and cultures, histories, traditions and continuing contributions, with a vision towards a culturally safe and inclusive future.

We are committed to building and maintaining respectful relationships with the Boonwurrung people of the Kulin Nation, ensuring that the curriculum respectfully reflects the Traditional Custodians’ cultures and perspectives. Educators support children in developing their knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures and perspectives through intentional teaching, respectful learning experiences, conversations, and community involvement.
