Our vision for reconciliation is an Australia that embraces unity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians. A National culture that represents equity, equality, historical acceptance of our shared history and the dismantling of institutional racial inequality. We aspire to see our national soul healed and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people’s cultures and contributions to be fully valued within our practice.
Deepening our knowledge about cultural responsiveness engages all educators in their professional conversations, supporting them in having a practice in which inclusion and respect are key themes in relation to teaching and learning about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people’s contributions, heritage and experiences.
We advocate for a culturally harmonious environment where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people’s cultures, perspectives and values are visible in the learning environment through incorporation of meaningful, relevant and culturally appropriate learning through our programs, as directed by Aboriginal community members.
