At Kidopia, we respectfully acknowledge the wisdom, strength, and enduring resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We also recognise the historical and ongoing injustices and discrimination experienced by these communities.
Our vision is guided by Reconciliation Australia’s five dimensions of reconciliation, which serve as a framework for our ongoing commitment:
Race Relations: Kidopia is dedicated to fostering early childhood education environments that reflect and uphold the rights, voices, and experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We achieve this through the development and implementation of our Narragunnawali: Reconciliation in Education Action Plan, in collaboration with local First Nations communities.
Unity: We honour the rich, living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, valuing the cultural knowledge and perspectives shared through our connections with children, families, and communities.
Institutional Integrity: We strengthen reconciliation through our organisational practices and social responsibilities. This includes supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-owned businesses, sourcing culturally authentic and ethical educational resources, and embedding inclusive policies and practices across our service.
Historical Acceptance: We are committed to acknowledging the truths of the past and ensuring they are never repeated. Through our cultural responsiveness programs and professional development initiatives, we support respectful learning that honours the histories and contributions of the oldest living cultures.
