Our vision for reconciliation is for educators to engage deeply with its principles on both personal and professional levels. This involves cultivating a culturally responsive environment that champions social justice, equality, and equity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. We are committed to building genuine relationships with local Elders and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members and groups, seeking their guidance to deepen our understanding of Australia’s First Peoples’ histories and cultures. This knowledge will be respectfully integrated into the programs we offer at Goodstart Willowdale for children and families.
We aim to deliver high-quality early learning experiences for educators, children, families, and the broader community. Our goal is to authentically and respectfully weave Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural perspectives into our everyday routines.
In our commitment to reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians, we actively support efforts to close the gap in educational equity and equality.
Reflecting on our journey so far, we reaffirm our dedication to fostering a learning environment that is inclusive, culturally enriched, and firmly grounded in the principles of reconciliation.
