We at Bomaderry Community Preschool, acknowledge the Dharawal People as the Traditional Custodians of Country and will actively respect First Nations peoples’ connections to the land, sky, waters, animals and community in which we learn and play.
Our vision for reconciliation is strong knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and identities. This understanding will guide us as we build respectful relationships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members.
We will continue to create a visibly inclusive and culturally responsive environment for all children, where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives are respectfully embedded in our everyday practice and where children feel a sense of belonging, safety and comfort in knowing that their cultures are represented and respected,
As educators, we understand the significant role we play in the reconciliation journey for each child, educator and family at our service. We are committed to learning, re-learning and teaching our shared histories and the diverse cultures that make up this country. Our process towards reconciliation acknowledges that children are the future and together with children, educators and families, we will work as a community and continue our journey.
