VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we stand. We respectfully engage in reconciliation processes by supporting our staff, children and families to deepen their understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' cultures, histories and their significant contributions to the past, present and future of Australia. We continue to value and respect the expertise and knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, Elders, and community members as we actively engage with the Vision, Principles, Practices and Outcomes of the EYLF to create equal and equitable opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and non-Indigenous children.   Reconciliation is taught and promoted throughout our service in every way including language and literacy, mathematics, science, sensory, art and music, geographic and history, dramatic/role play and social interactions. We continue to support staff and children to acknowledge the true histories of this nation, including the past and ongoing impact colonisation has on First Nations Elders and community members and ensure we are using respectful and inclusive language.   "We should walk together on this path of life, for all things are part of the universe and are connected with each other to form one whole unity" - Dr. Maria Montessori.  We continue to work towards a better understanding and respect of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures and to develop an enriched appreciation of First Nations peoples diverse cultural heritages and onwards to reconciliation. This is essential to the maturity of Australia as a nation and fundamental to the development of a reconciled Australian identity.
