At Federation Children, reconciliation is at the heart of who we are and what we do. We recognise that true reconciliation begins with respect, learning, and meaningful action. As an early childhood education and care service, we have a responsibility and a deep commitment to honour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Nations of this country and to ensure their cultures, histories, and contributions are valued and embedded into our everyday practice.
We are deeply committed to creating a thriving learning and working culture that honours and celebrates the rich histories, perspectives, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Our goal is to foster a deep and genuine understanding of First Nations cultures across our community, embedding this into every part of our practice with respect, care, and purpose.
We are dedicated to providing an inclusive, responsive, and culturally safe environment, one where all children are supported to learn and grow, and where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people feel respected, empowered, and strong.
We are guided by the five key dimensions in Reconciliation Australia’s Declaration Towards Reconciliation - Race relations, Equality and equity, Institutional integrity, Unity, and Historical acceptance.
Together with educators, children, families, and the broader community we are walking the journey of reconciliation. It is a journey of learning, reflection, action, and healing, and we are proud to walk it side by side with our community.
