Our vision for reconciliation is that the richness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and heritage are recognised, respected and celebrated. Our vision is that ‘EVERY child develops meaningful relationships, participates and learns with the encouragement of their families, carers and wider communities’. We are committed to building stronger relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities and organisations and providing respectful and age appropriate experiences. We further our connections with the local AECG and continue attending meetings where appropriate. We envision more Aboriginal and Torres Strait people joining our centre both through enrolments (children) and through educators (staff). Throughout the year we facilitate learning experiences for children through reciprocal relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members with long standing educators who have confidence assisting less confident educators.
We envision all staff having a more hands on approach to developing and enacting our RAP. In previous years a small number of educators have interacted so we hope to engage the whole team moving forward. We hope to see a large variety of experiences incorporated into our learning environments that are rich of culture and knowledge.
We hope that families with Aboriginal culture feel included and confident to share the culture with the centre.
