Little Lane is committed to creating a community dedicated to reconciliation, with respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and histories. Our vision is to actively recognise and value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures, and their diverse and dynamic natures. We will acknowledge and respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people's deep connections with, and custodianship of, the Lands since time immemorial. We aim to value the contributions of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to Australia's shared national identity and society. We strive to honour the resilience and strength and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures, and the injustices faced in the past and present due to the impact of colonisation. We value the generous opportunities to learn from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and perspectives. It is our goal to ensure that all Little Lane educators, families and children develop awareness and understanding of the longstanding and continuing significance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and contributions.  We commit to developing a service culture that creates a welcoming environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait families and supports First Nations staff, children and families to feel safe and secure with in the Little Lane community. We will ensure that the Little Lane Community, staff and volunteers actively participate in reconciliation through our policies, processes and actions, and will respectfully embed an appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, pedagogies and perspectives throughout our learning programs and projects in all rooms and learning environments.
