Our vision for reconciliation within the TG's Child Care environment is to see all children, educators and surrounding educational communities engage in learning about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples cultures, histories and contributions. We aim to do this by developing historical acceptance whilst building relationships that promote human rights and equal and equitable opportunities by understanding and encouraging collective thinking to create an understanding of Australia's shared history as we take small steps forward together to enhancing relationships and bringing about a better future for all.Â
All educators within our service believe that the little people are the ones that are going to make the change happen. Children are central to everything we do; it is important to give children the opportunity to explore and learn about our First Nations People. It is also important that our families feel safe, secure, and supported knowing they can be proud of their culture and respected in our community. Educators promote this learning as they embed ongoing learning experiences that allow the children to learn through play as they promote a sense of understanding, connection and respect for Australia's First Nations Peoples, and for the land which we care for as we learn and play.
