Lane Cove Out Of School Inc (LCOOS)’s vision for reconciliation is to continue to actively acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and give thanks to the Traditional Custodians for caring for the Land on which we work on and learn from every day. We are committed to deepening our reconciliation journey through providing programs which support children to be actively engaged with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, Elders and their histories, strengthening understandings of the diverse perspectives, cultures, heritages of First Nations peoples. Our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), will be a document that continues to grow and develop as the children’s and educators’ understandings deepen. We continue to embed the values of equality, equity and respect into our service curriculum and practices. We will be active in strengthening our connections and relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait communities. LCOOS will continue to navigate our way through our RAP journey, we are committed to producing inclusive programs that demonstrate respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and that help to nurture kindness, empathy and respect through play and learning goals so that all children, staff, families and our community can come together and be inspired to grow and adapt as advocates for reconciliation.
