Our vision for reconciliation at Wyndham Vale Montessori, Buffalo Campus is to embrace unity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians, and a national culture that represents equality and equity, historical acceptance of our shared histories and removal of negative race relations. Reconciliation must live in the hearts, minds, and actions of all Australians as we move forward, creating a nation strengthened by respectful relationships between the wider Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We acknowledge the Wathaurong, Woiwurrung, and Boonwurrung Peoples of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Owners of the Land in the Wyndham City area. We are here to educate ourselves, families, and the children in our learning community about our hopes for the future and how we can contribute to making it a reconciled future for all, whilst incorporating the Early Years Learning Framework and supporting the children to become strong in their sense of being, belonging and becoming.
We at Wyndham Vale Montessori, Buffalo Campus provide children with a range of learning experiences in a respectful way which enhances children’s knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritages and encourages connectedness to First Nations peoples within our centre and the broader community. We are maintaining positive relationships and links to the Wathaurong, Woiwurrung, and Boonwurrung peoples which is being embedded throughout our centre’s curriculums and daily routines.
