VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Waverley Early Childhood Education, we envision a future where reconciliation is woven into the fabric of our everyday practices and relationships. We are committed to building strong, respectful, and trusting relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the broader Australian community. We recognise that reconciliation is not a destination, but an ongoing journey—one that acknowledges the truths of the past, honours the enduring cultures and histories of First Nations peoples, and actively works toward a future of equity and unity. Every action, no matter how small, holds power and purpose towards reconciliation.  Guided by the five dimensions of the Reconciliation Australia, we aim to create and maintain inclusive, culturally responsive strategies and pedagogies that will empower children, educators and families of our service to recognise the importance of the reconciliation and the invaluable contributions of First Nations People. Waverley Early Childhood Education is dedicated to actively celebrating local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures through genuine connection and collaboration with the local First Nations community.  At our service, we affirm the ongoing connections of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to Country and acknowledge their role as the First Peoples of this Land. We are committed to fostering equal and equitable education opportunities and outcomes, and to building a strong, united community where rights and privileges are shared equally and equitably by everyone.
