Mayfield Early Education Tecoma's vision for reconciliation is remembering and acknowledging the past, but also moving towards a future of a united community that recognises the special place and cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of Australia. Our vision is to raise awareness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' perspectives among our children, educators, families, and the broader community. We honor and respect the knowledge and wisdom of past Elders, while building strong, respectful relationships with current and future Elders, as well as all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in our community. We will create opportunities for staff, children, families, and the broader community to cultivate a genuine passion and respect, and actively contribute to promoting fairness, dignity, and compassion for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and all people. We will work towards respectfully embedding throughout our daily programs the cultures, knowledge, perspectives and experience of First Nations peoples.
