Tamara Childrens Centre's Vision for Reconciliation acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Original and continuing Custodians of this place we now call Australia. We recognise that the living cultures and heritages of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people has shaped and continues to shape the identity of all Australians. Â Â Â
Tamara Childrens Centre exists on unceded Darug Land, and children and educators acknowledge Country as a daily practice. Â Â Â
Tamara Childrens Centre is dedicated to enriching children's experiences through learning about and understanding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples cultures, infusing this within our core service curriculum. We believe that teaching from a lens of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives, benefits Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and all children. Â Â Â
The framework of our vision consists of building relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the community, engaging with everyone, including families and seeking the voice of our local community, educators, families and children in developing clear goals for a meaningful ongoing partnership. Â Â Â
We strive to ensure that everyone within our service is respectful of diversity, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, perspectives and cultures and to enable children to develop strong and confident identities. Â Â Â
As a professional learning community we will commit to learning from and  listening deeply to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, fostering ongoing reflection and challenging ourselves and to sit with any discomfort that comes with the process of truth-telling, and the range of lived experiences while being sensitive and respectful to those we embark on this journey with.Â
We are committed to this journey towards long-term reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider community. Â
