At Rise & Shine Kindergarten we continue to see reconciliation as a journey, not a destination. It is ongoing and calls for listening, understanding, and meaningful action.
We continue to deepen our commitment by focusing on the voices of children and the strength of our local community partnerships with First Nations people. We recognise that children are not only learners but active participants. Their natural curiosity and sense of fairness inspire us to create opportunities where they can begin to understand and respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures.
We continue to build strong relationships with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. These partnerships guide our practice to support our learning and help us create an environment that is culturally safe, respectful, and inclusive.
We recognise that the past continues to shape the present. As educators, we take responsibility for creating spaces that are inclusive, respectful and safe for everyone. We are committed to ongoing learning and open conversations that build understanding, healing and connection.
Reconciliation is not something that ends. It is a journey we return to often with honesty, care, and a willingness to grow. We remain dedicated to this path knowing there is always more to learn and more we can do.
