VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our vision for reconciliation includes ensuring all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families and communities feel included, safe, supported and respected at our service. We believe we can learn from and alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, especially the Wadi Wadi people of the Dharawal Nation from local communities.  We recognise the importance of respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples perspectives and true histories into our program and practice. We continue to develop respectful, inclusive and supportive relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the local community.   Our vision is an ongoing and ever-growing shared goal for a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are recognised, respected and celebrated as the Traditional Custodians of the Land; where we pay respect to Elders for the knowledge they hold. As a centre, we will work towards this vision through our RAP. We will respectfully include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives, cultures, contributions in our program and practice. We strive to develop a growing understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples true histories and cultures and honour the current and continuing presence and significance of First Nations peoples within our community.
