VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At OAC Warriewood West, we understand that reconciliation is not a destination, but an ongoing journey of learning, reflection, and growth. We are committed to walking this journey together as a team, supporting one another to deepen our understanding and to learn collectively through respectful and meaningful experiences. To us, a reconciled Australia is one where every individual is valued and respected, regardless of their background. It is a community that acknowledges, honours, and understands Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, perspectives, and ways of being, and recognises their enduring contribution to the Australia we know today. We believe this knowledge is essential, as it represents the true history of our country and provides a foundation for creating a more inclusive, informed, and just future. A reconciled Australia is one where all people feel a strong sense of belonging and able to live, learn, and grow together in unity, free from fear of judgement, discrimination, or prejudice. As an Early Childhood Education and Care service, we recognise the unique and powerful role we play within our community. Through embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into our programs, and by building respectful relationships with local Aboriginal community members, we strive to create an environment where diversity is celebrated and cultures are valued for their ability to teach, inspire, and enrich us all.
