VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Huskisson Peak Sports and Learning, we envision a future where unity and mutual respect thrive between First Nations peoples and all Australians. Through our Before School Care, After School Care, and Vacation Care programs, we are committed to fostering reconciliation within our service and broader community. We aim to respectfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into our daily practices and environment. This includes visible representation throughout our centre, a daily Acknowledgement of Country, and the nurturing of strong, respectful relationships with local Elders and First Nations organisations. We encourage a deep connection to, and appreciation for, the Land and Country on which we learn and play. Our program incorporates both planned and spontaneous learning experiences that explore reconciliation, culture, and diversity. Educators play a key role in this journey by continually learning, reflecting, and acting as positive role models who champion inclusion, respect, and cultural awareness. We are dedicated to creating a culturally safe space for all by actively challenging racism and promoting a deep understanding of Australias shared history. By inspiring children to be inclusive, respectful, and culturally aware, we contribute to a more unified and respectful future for all.
