Our vision for reconciliation at SCECS OSHC St Michael’s Stanmore is to embrace unity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and all Australians. We envision a national culture built on equality, equity, and a truthful understanding of our shared history, free from racism and guided by mutual respect. Reconciliation must live in the hearts, minds, and everyday actions of all Australians as we walk together toward a future strengthened by respectful relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and the wider Australian community.
At SCECS OSHC St Michael’s Stanmore, we are committed to nurturing a sense of being, belonging, and becoming in every child. We provide meaningful learning experiences that respectfully honour and celebrate the histories, cultures, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. We foster children’s awareness and understanding of our nation’s First Peoples and build connections to the Traditional Custodians of the Land, the Cadigal People of the Eora Nation. These connections are embedded in our curriculum, practices, and daily routines, enriching our community and guiding us on our journey of reconciliation.
