At Gumbirra Children's Centre, we continue to strive for a more holistic reconciliation approach, moving to respectful, inclusive practices focusing on social justice and opportunities for equality and equity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families and educators. Our aim at Gumbirra Children's Centre to actively foster and strengthen meaningful partnerships with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community for the benefit of all members of our community of practice.
As part of our reconciliation journey, we will continue to challenge conscious and unconscious biases of those in the wider community as well as our own and acknowledge the impact our shared histories have had on First Nations peoples in the past and present. Our team of educators will support all children to learn about and respect the significance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, perspectives and histories
