VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Bridgewood Kindergarten, our vision for reconciliation is a future where respectful relationships and genuine connections are built between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and the wider community.

We acknowledge the ongoing impacts of colonisation, including dispossession, discrimination, and injustice. Reconciliation is an ongoing journey of truth-telling, reflection, and action as we work together towards a more just, inclusive, and equitable future.

Healing and Restorative Justice

We are committed to creating safe spaces where stories are shared, dignity is upheld, and the resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples is honoured. We aim to foster trust, understanding, and collective healing.

Inclusive Dialogue and Participation

Reconciliation is strengthened by inclusive and respectful dialogue. We value the voices of all children, families, and staff and recognise the importance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leadership in shaping our reconciliation journey.

Education and Awareness

We are committed to embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives throughout our learning environment. By teaching children the true history and rich cultures of First Nations Peoples, we build understanding, empathy, and respect.

Sustainable Peacebuilding

Reconciliation is a lifelong commitment. We strive to nurture respectful relationships, promote cultural understanding, and support actions that strengthen community connections. Together, we work towards a future of unity, respect, and belonging for all.
