At Balmoral House Private Preschool, we value, respect, and honour the cultures, histories, and ongoing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we live and learn and pay our respects to Elders past and present.
Our vision for reconciliation is to walk alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in a spirit of unity, understanding, and mutual respect. We recognise the importance of acknowledging past injustices and working together towards a future that supports equity, equality, healing, and belonging for all. We are committed to embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives respectfully across all areas of our service. We will do this through our teaching practices, learning environments, community connections, and professional development.
We aim to foster a culturally safe, inclusive, and welcoming space where all children and families feel seen, valued, and respected. Through intentional learning opportunities, cultural experiences, and meaningful relationships with First Nations peoples, we strive to nurture children’s understanding and appreciation of the richness and diversity of the world’s oldest living cultures. Reconciliation is an ongoing journey.
We are dedicated to listening, learning, and taking action as we grow in our knowledge and continue to reflect on our role in supporting reconciliation within our preschool and the broader community.
