VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Altona Early Education Centre, we recognise and deeply respect the First Nations peoples of Australia as the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we live, work, and learn. We acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Owners of the land on which our centre stands, and we pay our respects to Elders past and present, and to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We believe reconciliation is essential in building a more just, inclusive, and respectful society. As educators and caregivers, we have a responsibility to contribute to the healing process by fostering a sense of belonging, understanding, and pride in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culturesstarting with our youngest learners.

Through meaningful relationships, respectful curriculum choices, and inclusive practices, we aim to create a learning environment that embraces diversity and honours the stories, knowledge, and contributions of First Nations peoples. We are committed to listening, learning, and walking alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities as we work toward a shared future grounded in truth, respect, and unity.

Reconciliation is not a one-time action, but an ongoing journey. At Altona Early Education Centre, we are dedicated to embedding this journey into everything we doso that every child grows up with a deep sense of cultural respect and responsibility.
