Acacia Fitzroy Creche's vision for a just, equitable and reconciled Australia will be accomplished by acknowledging our responsibility to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and by promoting a culturally respectful and inclusive environment. We acknowledge that early childhood education is a pathway to a reconciled nation, recognising that we, as educators, have the potential to facilitate positive change to our community. Whilst working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous staff, educators, children, families, and community members, we endeavour to instil a deep respect for the values of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and a commitment to ongoing learning about First Peoples cultures and histories and continuing contributions. Drawing on strength based approaches, we will engage with local First Nations community members and place based reconciliation to nurture a just, equitable and inclusive environment that supports a fair future and a respect for diverse identities, perspectives and experiences.
