VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Oxenford C&K Kindergarten, we respectfully acknowledge the Kombumerri People of the Yugambeh Language Region as the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which our kindergarten stands. We honour their enduring connection to Country and pay our respects to Elders past and present.

We are committed to fostering genuine, respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities. We aim to meaningfully embed First Nations perspectives, histories, and cultures into our everyday practices, learning environments, and interactions. Through continuous professional development, we deepen our understanding of the rich and diverse traditions, lived experiences, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We share this learning with children, families, and the wider community in culturally appropriate and respectful ways.

As early childhood educators, we recognise our responsibility as role models. We strive to create a culturally safe, inclusive, and empowering learning environment where all children can learn about and value the worlds oldest living cultures. We believe that the knowledge and understanding children gain during these formative years will contribute to a more just, equitable, and reconciled Australia.
