VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Goodstart Joondalup, we recognise our unique opportunity to foster learning and respect for the histories, cultures, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Our commitment is to build a culture of equity and equality for all.

As educators, we believe our role extends to ourselves, children, and families, promoting reconciliation through a sense of being, belonging, and becoming within our service. We strive to integrate respect and understanding for First Nations peoples in everything we do, providing children with a diverse range of respectful learning experiences that deepen their knowledge of, and respect for, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ heritages and cultures.

We commit to nurturing respectful connections with First Nations peoples, both within our center and the broader community. By actively role-modeling positive relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous people, we strive to cultivate children’s respect for First Nations peoples and to build their own relationships based on trust and respect. Together, we aim to create a harmonious and inclusive community.
