Port Broughton Kindergarten acknowledges the cultures, histories and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders peoples. We recognise that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are the Traditional Custodians of Australia, and we acknowledge and respect that our Kindergarten Centre stands on Nharangga Land.
At Port Broughton Kindergarten, we strive to involve all children and families in our learning programs, delivering learning opportunities that are respectful and inclusive of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ perspectives and cultures.
We believe that we can help our community gain a deep understanding and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures by educating young children and their families through our everyday reflections, embedded practices and connections with the local First Nations communities, encouraging all to be part of our journey towards reconciliation.
We endeavour to ensure that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and community members feel a sense of connectedness, belonging and respect within our service and within the wider community.
