VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Angaston Early Learning Centre and Out of School Hours Care Program, our vision for reconciliation is for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices to be heard and listened to in our learning environment, enabling children to have a more meaningful experience when learning about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, contributions, cultures and perspectives. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices and perspectives can be heard and explored through books, role play, technology or where we are able to respectfully connect with nature and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Our philosophy link - recognises this and states, "The diversity and identity of our families and the families within our community are valued by promoting children's cultural competence and an appreciation of the heritage of the land and the connection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture to the Land."

Each staff member will be provided with opportunities to contribute to the Reconciliation Action Plan.
