At Gawler South Goodstart Early Learning Centre, our vision for reconciliation is grounded in ongoing education, respectful engagement, and meaningful action. We are committed to deepening our understanding of and connection with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, and histories. We respectfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives throughout our curriculum, learning alongside children, families, and our wider community. Together, we seek to build cultural knowledge, challenge bias, and celebrate the richness and diversity of First Nations cultures. As we walk together on the Land of the Kaurna people, we prioritise the use of Kaurna language and honour the unique place of Kaurna people as Traditional Custodians of this Country. We recognise that the Kaurna Nation holds native title rights to the land on which Adelaide standsthe only capital city in Australia where this has been formally recognised. We are dedicated to fostering a culturally safe and responsive learning environment, where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, and communities feel respected, valued, and heard. Through authentic relationships and shared learning, we continue our journey of reconciliation with openness, respect, and responsibility.
