VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our vision for reconciliation is to deepen our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures by working in partnership with local communities to build respectful and meaningful relationships. These relationships will be nurtured through deep listening, learning, and genuine connection with the local Kaurna communities. Together, we aim to strengthen our knowledge of the past and present, fostering relationships built on mutual trust and respect.   As a centre, we believe it is vital to continually develop our understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples rich histories, cultures, and contributions. Through our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), we will create greater opportunities for all people, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, to experience a genuine sense of belonging within our community. We are committed to involving families and community members in guiding our RAP, ensuring that local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and services are meaningfully engaged and represented in our journey. Inclusion and anti-racism will remain at the core of our workplace culture and professional practice. We recognise that true reconciliation requires ongoing commitment and active acknowledgment of the Traditional Owners of the land on which we live, work, and play.   We will continue to expand our understanding of the needs, interests, and aspirations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and their families. By embracing the cultural diversity and richness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, we will embed these perspectives throughout our centres practices and programs.   Through our RAP, we strive to create an inclusive, respectful, and connected space for all people, where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, and community members feel valued, empowered, and a strong sense of belonging.
