VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Goodstart Mawson Lakes Elder Drive, our vision for reconciliation is to foster a future where the cultures, true histories, and rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are deeply respected and respectfully embedded in all aspects of our curriculum, daily practices and community life.  Located on Kaurna Country in South Australia, we acknowledge and honour the Kaurna People as the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we live, learn, play and work. We pay our respects to Kaurna Elders past,  and present, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across Australia.   We are committed to building a reconciled Australia where First Nations peoples are acknowledged for their enduring connections to Country, culture, and community.  Through Truth-telling, respectful relationships, and meaningful action, we are committed to walking alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to advance justice, healing, and equity.   Reconciliation at our service means actively challenging systems of disadvantage, creating a culturally safe and responsive environment ensuring that First Nations voices are heard and centred in the decision-making process. We continue building lasting relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, grounded in trust, respect, and shared purpose.  As we continue this journey, we acknowledge that reconciliation is not a destination, but an ongoing responsibility that requires deep listening, humility, and sustained commitment.
