At our centre, we are committed to reconciliation as a deliberate and ongoing journey grounded in truth-telling, respect, and justice. We recognise the unique and enduring place of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of this Land, and understanding the critical role that all Australians have in addressing historical and ongoing injustices.
We understand that a Reconciliation Action Plan is a specific, action-oriented framework that guides our responsibility to engage deeply and respectfully with the histories, cultures and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians. Through our RAP, we work to embed reconciliation into the heart of our practices, policies and relationships, acknowledging that this work must be sustained, visible and led by the voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Listening is central to our approach. We build genuine relationships based on trust, reciprocity, and a shared commitment to walking together with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the spirit of learning and healing.
We honour the significance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and recognise their ongoing contributions to our shared national story and identity. Our learning environment reflects this recognition through respectful representation, curriculum content, and the celebration of culturally significant events such as NAIDOC Week and National Reconciliation Week.Â
Reconciliation also means critically examining our own role in creating a more just and equitable future. We support children to engage with these ideas through age-appropriate conversations and experiences that build empathy, historical understanding, and social responsibility.Â
We reflect regularly on our actions, and remain committed to evolving and strengthening our contribution to reconciliation through our Reconciliation Action Plan and beyond.
