At Netherby Kindergarten, we recognise that everyone plays a vital role in the journey towards reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous people. We support age-appropriate learning about First Nations peoples’ histories through respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ perspectives. As new understanding and knowledge in First Nations Education emerge, we, as a team, will continue to respectfully embed this into the Netherby Kindergarten curriculum. We will continue to build meaningful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members and businesses. Our aim is for all children to gain an understanding and appreciation of Kaurna language and culture. Along with children, families, staff and the wider community, we place a high priority on walking together now and in the future towards reconciliation.
