VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Goodstart Belair, we are committed to fostering a deep respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories, and perspectives. We believe that reconciliation is an ongoing journey of learning, reflection, and meaningful action, embedded in our daily practices, relationships, and environment.

Our vision for reconciliation is a culturally safe and inclusive space where children, families, and educators come together, respecting the diversity of, and building genuine connections with local Aboriginal communities. Through storytelling, nature-based learning, and respectful engagement, we support children to deepen their knowledge of, and respect for, the world’s oldest living cultures.

We are motivated by our responsibility to uphold truth-telling, acknowledge past injustices, and take active steps toward reconciliation. By weaving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into our curriculum and strengthening our partnerships with local Elders and First Nations communities, we strive to contribute to a future where all children grow up with a strong sense of identity, belonging, and respect for Country.
