Our vision for reconciliation at Goodstart Early Learning Marleston is to develop a centre community which is welcoming to all cultures and has a deep understanding of, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We recognise the Kaurna people as the Traditional Owners of the Land on which children and educators live, learn and play. We are guided by the history and knowledge of the Kaurna people to support children and families in building relationships, and strengthen the connections, within the local community. We continue to build and maintain strong relationships with First Nations families, organisations and members of the local community. We also acknowledge that educators need to learn about the importance of reconciliation and we actively support them in their professional and personal learning about the Traditional Custodians of the land. We understand the importance of respectfully working together to create an authentic and shared Reconciliation Action Plan with a clear vision for our centre to work towards a reconciled Australia, through learnings shared on our programs about the past and present we will educate children to underspent and respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and perspectives. We will continue to build strong relationships with First Nation families, organisations and members of the community as we extend our learning together.
