Our vision for reconciliation is for Seaton Community Childrens Centre to contribute to creating an Australia that celebrates and embraces unity between Aboriginal and Zenadth Kes peoples and other Australians. As a service we aim to authentically connect with local Aboriginal and Zenadth Kes communities and learn the truths about the nations histories, with a view to move forward together towards reconciliation with respect, care and understanding. We will ensure that Aboriginal and Zenadth Kes children and families are given equal and equitable opportunities to access high quality early education and care. As an Early Education and Care service on Kaurna Land, we are in a unique position to educate children and families about reconciliation and promote mutually respectful, genuine relationships between Aboriginal and Zenadth Kes peoples and other Australians. We strive to learn and understand the rich culture of the Kaurna People and their respect of and connection to the Land and waterways so that we can share our learnings with other Australians and raise their awareness and understanding too. If we address racism, bias, inequality and inequity in early childhood we are contributing to a national vision of reconciliation by helping to raise fair, just, unbiased adults of the future.
