At Capekids Early Learning Childcare our vision for reconciliation is to ensure an inclusive and supportive environment that facilitates connection, equity, equality and inclusivity for all children, families and educators to develop a strong understanding and respect of First Nations peoples and cultures and to acknowledge Country on which we have the honour to play, learn and work. Here in Weipa we recognise the Algnith people and the 10 neighboring clans and the value of their histories, traditions and the continuing contributions of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the First Nation Peoples of Australia. We endeavour to continue providing a welcoming, nurturing, supportive and diverse environment for all that visit or attend our service, providing a sense of belonging within the community as we continue to foster our relationships together. We continue to collaborate alongside Elders and local First Nations community members by respectfully embedding their voices and contributions within our learning environment and are committed in learning about the diverse cultures and histories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and creating space for their voices and storytelling to the best of our ability within our programs.
