At Milestones Early Learning Deeragun, we are proud of our ever-growing relationship with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. Our relationships are new but slowly evolving as we start to understand and appreciate the rich cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and their contributions brings to the country now called Australia. Our Educators recognise maintaining respectful relationships with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community is vital to our learning and continued growth as Educators and Australians on our reconciliation journey. We are committed to our ongoing learning about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ histories and cultures, as well as contemporary matters. We recognise the importance of learning about and understanding past injustices and how they continue to impact Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities today.  We also recognise the importance of fostering close relationships with children and families and by recognising the diverse range of needs and aspirations of all families and students we nurture and maintain these relationships. We strive to provide a high standard of education for all children, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. We commit to providing culturally appropriate and responsive environments and engaging in meaningful and respectful practices.
