Goodstart Mount Pleasant is committed to building, growing and maintaining partnerships between the wider Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples that are based on mutual trust, understanding, acknowledgment and respect.
We believe in actively recognising and upholding the rights, and respecting the histories, cultures and continuing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, within our pedagogy and teaching practices.  We will continue to recognise and develop understanding of the unique cultures, traditions, and languages of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples throughout Australia and commit to supporting the children within our learning community to simultaneously develop understanding of, and respect for, First Nations peoples and perspectives.
Together with children within our service, we will continue to recognise, build an understanding of, and appropriately commemorate events that are significant to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and also ensure that our planning and practices embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples perspectives in a respectful and authentic way, each and every day. We respectfully value the learnings that we develop through collaboration in our local community and seek to extend and nurture our own knowledge to ensure that we can strengthen respectful partnerships between the Goodstart Mount Pleasant community, the wide community of children and families and the local First Nations community.
As part of our commitment to reconciliation between non-Indigenous people and the First Nations community of the Yuwi Land on which we come together, we will continue to support equal, equitable and culturally inclusive and responsive education opportunities.
