Calliope Kindergarten acknowledges the Byellee, Gooreng Gooreng, Gurang and Taribelang Bunda Peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the Land upon which we learn and play.
We are committed to fostering and nurturing a respectful community in which Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' continuing cultures, perspectives and histories are visible in our daily curriculum and environments, and in which a culture of inclusion, reconciliation and respect are evident in all our interactions with children, families, staff and the community.
It is our vision for reconciliation for all to learn from, and with, the Traditional Custodians about connecting to the Land, foster a greater connection with the Land and supporting increased understanding of local First Nations cultures and perspectives.
Our commitment as a service is to continue building and maintaining relationships with, and working alongside, local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders, families and community members as active partners as we deepen our awareness and respect for continuing First Nations peoples’ cultures and histories. We strive to support children, families, staff and community members to contribute to our vision of a reconciled nation.
