C&K Mooloolaba Early Childhood Centre's vision for reconciliation, is an Australia that embraces unity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians. We promote a national identity that represents equality and equity, positive race relations and historical acceptance of our shared histories. We encourage our community to respect the diversity of First Nations peoples cultures and learn from each other.
We continue to support younger generations to build empathy and understanding of Australia's past, providing a play space that visually representative of the Gubbi Gubbi people as the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we play and learn. We are committed to teaching about conservation and respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives, including local knowledge of the Gubbi Gubbi peoples. We will continue to advocate for teaching alongside Gubbi Gubbi Elders, respecting their ongoing practices of loving, and caring for, the Land.Â
We are committed to building strong communities with families, children and educators, and embedding heartfelt practices that promote reconciliation through active acceptance and understanding. We continue to share true histories, acknowledging the ongoing inequalities and inequities Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples experience since colonisation, focusing on building a sustainable learning environment which embeds positive inclusive change for our future. We will work towards creating a future together that Australia, and the young children we teach, can be proud of.
