VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Chancellor Park World of Learning, we believe that reconciliation is an ongoing learning journey, requiring commitment, understanding and respect. We acknowledge the rich cultural heritage, traditions, and contributions of Gubbi Gubbi people as the Traditional Custodians of this Land. We are dedicated to cultural safety, for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to feel respected, understood, and supported. We will actively create safe spaces, systems, and practices where First Nations perspectives, histories, and cultures are acknowledged and respected. We believe cultural safety requires continuous, active engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, traditions, and values, ensuring that these are not only heard but are woven into the fabric of our Centre's daily practices. Our vision for reconciliation is a community where the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are integral to the learning journey for all. Through genuine partnerships, open dialogue, and respect for diverse perspectives, we will create a space where all children, families, and staff can come together to learn, grow, and respect First Nations peoples. We are committed to making reconciliation a core part of our Centres identity, fostering mutual respect, understanding, and positive relationships for current and future generations. We will continue to work with children, families and educators to deepen our understandings of First Nation peoples perspectives in a way that is age and developmentally appropriate.
