VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

The Day One Early Learning Dakabin campus will be a place where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' cultures and histories are actively recognised and respected. Our reconciliation journey is an integrated part of the centres everyday learning, teaching, research, and community engagement. Our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) will continue to shape and strengthen the cultural lens that we apply to future strategic approaches to identifying and implementing practical ways to build positive, sustainable and ongoing relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, families, and staff. Our RAP vision continues to be based on a commitment to collaborating with, and complementing the aspirations of, the local Gubbi Gubbi people and all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Day One ELC will continue to acknowledge the important contributions of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to our centre and the nation and respect the knowledge connected to the world's oldest living cultures. Our long-term reconciliation vision is to be a centre that is continuously working with First Nations peoples and to respectfully embed First Nations peoples perspectives and knowledges in and through our services practices and programs.
