VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our vision for reconciliation is for an Australia where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians walk together in unity, respect and truth. We envisage a nation where equity, justice and historical acceptance are woven into our collective identity, where reconciliation is lived daily in the choices, relationships and actions of all Australians. We are committed to moving beyond awareness towards meaningful action, guided by genuine partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Through listening deeply to the voices of Elders and community, we aim to embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of being, knowing and doing into every layer of our service. In doing so, we strive to create a culturally safe environment where children, families and educators feel a strong sense of identity, belonging and pride. This year, our vision extends to actively amplifying Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices, strengthening relationships, and ensuring our practices reflect respect, reciprocity and responsibility. We seek not only to provide access and inclusion, but to foster a culture where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories and languages are not just acknowledged, but celebrated and shared as a vital part of who we are as a community. Our ongoing dedication reflects our values of diversity, inclusion, advocacy, justice and courage. We believe our role is to nurture deep respect, challenge bias, and contribute to shaping a future where reconciliation is embedded in the hearts and actions of generations to come.
