VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Goodstart Slacks Creek, our vision for reconciliation is grounded in respectful relationships, and a shared journey toward unity and understanding between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous people. We envision a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories, and perspectives are deeply embedded in our everyday practices, learning environments, and community connections.   We are committed to creating a culturally safe and inclusive space where children, families, and educators feel valued and empowered. Through meaningful engagement, ongoing learning, and open dialogue, we aim to create an environment in which the rich cultural heritage of First Nations peoples is acknowledged and respected.   Reconciliation for us means walking together acknowledging the past and the present toward  building a reconciled future where equity, truth, and mutual respect between First Nations and non-Indigenous Australians guide our actions. We believe that early learning plays a vital role in shaping compassionate citizens, as educators we are dedicated to continuing our reconciliation journeys so that we can nurture children who grow up with a deep appreciation for reconciliation and a strong commitment to justice.   Together, with our families and community, we strive to be active participants in reconciliation learning, listening, and leading with heart.
