Our vision for reconciliation is that all children and educators in our centre grow to be respectful of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, and histories. As early childhood professionals, we are committed to ongoing learning and professional development, building our knowledge of the First Peoples of Australia and finding respectful, authentic ways to embed these perspectives into our daily practice and routines. Â Â Â We understand that genuine connections take time, trust, and reciprocity. We will start by seeking guidance and input from our families that have joined our centre to understanding their connection to Country and community. Using this knowledge, we would like to create a welcoming space where community members feel invited to take part in teaching, storytelling, cultural activities, and celebrations. This can then shape our learning environment, programs, and events. We aim to embed local perspectives and knowledge into our curriculum and daily practices in ways that are authentic and guided by our community input. Â Â Â
